Mayor of Philadelphia: “What the president needs to do, frankly, is put his big-boy pants on. He needs to acknowledge that he lost. And he needs to congratulate the winner. Just as Jimmy Carter did. Just as George HW Bush did. Just as Al Gore did.” pic.twitter.com/QKF6ieVmJH

Al Gore saying that he defended counting every legally cast ballot is just pure retconning. He tried to disenfranchise military ballots, and demanded recounts and divining voter intent ONLY in areas where he thought he had an advantage.

In the 2000 election Al Gore took a bullet for the country. Tonight President Trump put a bullet into the country. Most shameful thing I’ve ever seen.

In 2000, Al Gore put the country through a 37-day recount process in which he urged the courts to permit recounts only in the places where he thought he find additional votes for him. If you doubt that, read the book his lawyer, David Boies, wrote about it. https://t.co/KLvmQ89KqP

Al Gore didn’t concede until December 13th.
We aren’t even close to UNPRECEDENTED territory.
